Kevin E. Kelley, AIA, is the co-founder and principal of Shook Kelley, which has offices in Charlotte, Chicago and Los Angeles. Shook Kelley is a multi-disciplinary firm that not only studies how consumers behave within retail-based situations and environments, but makes design adjustments to these venues in an effort to attract, influence and shape specific consumer behavior. The firm's client list includes well-known brands such as Harley-Davidson, Whole Foods, Bank of America, Cadbury, Kraft, Harris Teeter, Bashas' and more.
Kevin was trained and licensed as an architect and taught for many years at the University of North Carolina and Harvard University. For the past eight years, Kevin has been based in the Los Angeles office and has expanded the practice into studying how consumers make other major lifestyle decisions, such as where to live or what colleges or universities to attend. As Kevin puts it, we are all consumers of something, and there is much to be learned by better understanding how consumers make decisions.
